Where Steel & Green keeps green in its outdoor register, field jackets and waxed cotton, gold moves the same cord somewhere else entirely. It stops reading as utility and starts reading as jewel tone. This is the variant for a wardrobe with dark green knitwear, brown leather, and a warm watch, and it is the one that looks most expensive at a glance, which is a fact of color rather than construction.

Why two rows

A single chain rolls until its edge faces up. Two rows of round box chain tied together by woven cord stay flat, so the green line runs straight between the two gold rows all day. On a gold chain that matters twice: the flat face shows the polished finish at its best, and the straight line of green keeps the piece reading as a considered design rather than a tangle of metal and cord.

Where it sits in your rotation

Autumn, brown leather, olive and forest knits, gold-tone watches. Green is the one bright color that never fights warm leather, and gold is the metal that leather already agrees with. 316L surgical stainless steel

The chain and clasp are made from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants and premium watch cases. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer on the surface, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. It contains no nickel available to the skin and no copper, so it is safe for sensitive wrists and continuous daily wear.

PVD gold coating

The gold finish is applied through physical vapor deposition, the same process luxury watchmakers use on gold-tone cases. PVD bonds the color to the steel at the molecular level rather than resting on the surface the way traditional plating does, so the finish resists scratching and holds its tone through years of daily wear. It is the difference between a color that is part of the metal and a color that sits on it.

Woven cord

Green marine-grade cord runs between the two rows of links, dyed through the fiber rather than coated on the surface, so there is no layer to scratch away. Mid-tone colors like this one show everyday marks least of all the cords in the collection.

Care

• Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear. This is the only routine care the piece needs.
• Showers, rain, sweat, and pool water are fine for the steel, the PVD finish, and the cord.
• Rinse with fresh water and pat dry after salt water or chlorine.
• Put it on after cologne, sunscreen, or lotion, once the skin is dry.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from pieces that could scratch the finish.
• Skip bleach, alcohol, abrasive cleaners, and ultrasonic jewelry machines. Abrasives are the one thing that can dull a PVD surface.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys, and fading comes from thin electroplating. This piece uses neither. If you have reacted to jewelry before, 316L steel is the alloy dermatologists point to as the safe default, and the hypoallergenic range at Caligio is built on it.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
