Who this is for
Not a first chain. Caligio observes that Gold & Red is bought almost entirely by men who already own one, usually a black or navy variant, and who want a second that behaves nothing like the first. It belongs on a wrist with warm skin undertones, a gold watch, and a wardrobe with some depth of color in it. Worn against grey and denim it works too, but it will be the loudest thing in the outfit, and that is the correct outcome.
Why two rows
A single chain rolls on the wrist until its edge faces up. Two rows of round box chain bound by woven cord stay flat and face-up, so the red line runs straight between the two gold rows. On the boldest colorway in the collection that is what keeps it looking like jewelry: loud, but deliberate.

316L surgical stainless steel
The chain and clasp are made from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants and premium watch cases. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer on the surface, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. It contains no nickel available to the skin and no copper, so it is safe for sensitive wrists and continuous daily wear.
PVD gold coating
The gold finish is applied through physical vapor deposition, the same process luxury watchmakers use on gold-tone cases. PVD bonds the color to the steel at the molecular level rather than resting on the surface the way traditional plating does, so the finish resists scratching and holds its tone through years of daily wear.
Woven cord
Red marine-grade cord runs between the two rows of links, dyed through the fiber rather than coated on the surface, so there is no layer to scratch away. Bright colors are the ones most affected by prolonged sun, so store the piece in its pouch rather than on a windowsill.
Care
- Wipe with a soft dry cloth after wear. This is the only routine care the piece needs.
- Showers, rain, sweat, and pool water are fine for the steel, the PVD finish, and the cord.
- Rinse with fresh water and pat dry after salt water or chlorine.
- Put it on after cologne, sunscreen, or lotion, once the skin is dry.
- Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sunlight and pieces that could scratch the finish.
- Skip bleach, alcohol, abrasive cleaners, and ultrasonic jewelry machines. Abrasives are the one thing that can dull a PVD surface.
Skin sensitivity

What is a round box chain?
A box chain made of rounded links rather than square cubes, so it slides over skin and cuffs instead of catching and holds its shape better than a round-link chain. This bracelet runs two rows of it side by side with red cord woven between them.
Is it waterproof?
Yes. The 316L steel does not rust, the PVD gold finish is bonded to the metal, and the marine-grade cord barely absorbs water, so showers, rain, sweat, and the pool are fine. Rinse it in fresh water after the ocean or chlorine to keep the gold and the red at their brightest.

Medium, which fits wrists up to 7.2 inches, is the right size for a 7 inch wrist and suits most men. Small fits up to 6.7 inches. Large fits up to 8 inches. The fold-over clasp means the size is fixed, so if you sit between two sizes, go one up.
To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.
