Volcanic glass with a quiet anchor

Black Obsidian Buddha is a unisex beaded bracelet built around 8mm natural black obsidian, the volcanic glass that forms when lava cools too fast to crystallize. Its finish is a deep matte black with the faint depth of glass underneath, and two carved Buddha beads break the run of round stones to anchor the wrist. It is the beaded piece for a man who wants stone rather than metal on the wrist and does not want it to shout.

What black obsidian is

Obsidian is natural volcanic glass, not a dyed or coated bead. Each stone carries the even, light-absorbing black that has made obsidian a grounding stone in stone lore for centuries, long associated with focus and protection. Because it is glass rather than crystal, the surface is smoother than most stone beads and sits cool against the skin.

The Buddha beads

Two carved Buddha beads sit as the focal points, the small interruption that turns a plain stone strand into something with intention. They read as calm rather than loud, which is the whole idea of the piece.

Fit and family

The beads are strung on a hidden elastic cord, so the bracelet slips over the hand and settles back, adjustable to fit wrists from 6 to 7 inches with no clasp to fasten. Natural stone, kept dry

Obsidian is natural volcanic glass, and the strand runs on an elastic cord. Neither likes water. The glass itself is inert, but soaking works oils and grit into the cord channels and shortens the life of the elastic, so this is a keep-dry bracelet rather than a waterproof one.

Take it off before water

Remove it before showering, swimming, and the pool. Occasional rain is not a problem. For a wrist that lives in water, Caligio builds an entire waterproof bracelets collection in steel and marine cord.

The one habit that keeps it looking new

Put the bracelet on last, after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream, since oils dull the polish on stone over time. Wipe the beads with a soft dry cloth now and then. To take it on and off, roll it over the hand rather than stretching the cord to its limit, which is what makes an elastic strand last for years.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys. This bracelet is natural obsidian on an elastic cord, with no plated metal touching the skin, which makes it a safe choice for reactive wrists.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
