Stone and elastic both prefer dry

This is the one real difference between a beaded bracelet and a steel one. Tiger eye itself is quartz and hard enough to shrug off daily wear, but the elastic cord running through the beads is the part that ages, and water, soap, and chlorine shorten its life faster than anything else. Take it off before a shower or a swim rather than after.

How to put it on without stressing the cord

Roll it over the hand rather than stretching it wide and pulling. Every hard stretch works the elastic a little, and a stretch bracelet almost always fails at the cord rather than at the stone. Rolling it on adds years.

Keeping the shine

The travelling band of light is a property of the stone, not a finish, so it cannot wear off. What dulls tiger eye is film - skincare, cologne, sunscreen and hand cream leave a residue on the beads that flattens the effect.
