Infinity Purple Steel Stingray
Infinity Purple Steel Stingray
Infinity Purple Steel Stingray Bracelet - the rarest color on the rarest texture, created for anyone who wants a piece nobody else at the table is wearing. Made from genuine stingray leather in a deep purple and bonded to a 316L stainless steel frame, this unisex leather bracelet carries thousands of calcified beads that catch light as pale points against the color. Its universal adjustable design bends gently to fit any wrist, with no clasp to fasten and nothing to size wrong.
Stingray leather, also called shagreen, is covered in beads roughly as hard as tooth enamel, and on a deep purple ground those pale crowns read at their strongest contrast anywhere in the collection. Purple has been the most difficult color to make for most of recorded history, which is exactly why it ended up meaning what it means. Designed for both men and women, it is the unisex accessory for a wrist that wants to be asked about.
The Infinity Collection is available in multiple python and stingray leather finishes, with a range of colors and textures to match any personal style. The flex-fit universal design means a perfect fit for everyone - no clasp, just bend or unbend to adjust, and the Large here opens to a full 8 inches. Each bracelet arrives in a signature Caligio gift box, which makes it a ready gift for him or her for birthdays, anniversaries, and special occasions. The classic version of the same texture is Infinity Black Stingray.

The hardest color to make, on the hardest leather to find
For most of recorded history purple was the most expensive color that existed. It came from sea snails, took thousands of them for a small quantity of dye, and cost more by weight than gold, which is why several empires wrote laws about who was allowed to wear it. Nothing about that is true of modern dye, but the association survived intact, and purple still reads as the color somebody chose rather than settled for. Infinity Purple Steel Stingray puts it on genuine stingray leather over a 316L stainless steel frame, with no clasp.
Why purple and stingray belong together
Stingray leather, also called shagreen, is a hide covered in thousands of calcified beads, each roughly as hard as tooth enamel. Those beads sit paler than the ground they grow from, so on a deep purple the contrast is the strongest anywhere in the collection: a field of light points scattered across a dark color. On black the same texture reads as relief; on purple it reads almost as scattered pearls.
Why the frame is steel rather than gold
Gold would push purple toward the register it already carries too much of, all velvet and coronation. Cool 316L steel does the opposite: it holds the color in the present tense and picks up the same pale light as the bead crowns, so metal and texture agree instead of competing. The result is a bracelet that is unusual without looking like costume.
Why a mineral leather survives a bending cuff
Stingray is a mosaic, not a shell. The beads are separate nodes sitting in a leather bed rather than one continuous plate, so when the 316L frame opens or closes, the nodes shift a fraction relative to each other and nothing is asked to stretch. A rigid unbroken surface would craze on the first adjustment. Three sizes are three degrees of opening: Small up to 6.7 inches, Medium up to 7.2, Large up to a full 8, the roomiest Large in the line. The classic version of this texture is Infinity Black Stingray, and the bright one is Infinity Turquoise Stingray. Every exotic leather sits in python and stingray, larger wrists in the XL collection.

| Leather texture | Thousands of calcified beads, hard as tooth enamel, set into the hide as separate domes |
| In purple | The pale bead crowns sit against a dark ground, the strongest texture contrast in the collection |
| Why a steel frame | Cool metal keeps purple modern and echoes the pale bead crowns. Gold would push the color toward costume |
| Why it works on a cuff | Stingray is a mosaic, not a shell. The beads shift relative to each other when the frame flexes, so nothing stretches |
| Closure | None. Open cuff. It holds by shape, not by pressure |

A mineral surface on a living one
Stingray is leather carrying a coat of calcified beads, close to tooth enamel in hardness. The beads are almost indestructible. The hide holding them is not, and the 316L steel frame beneath needs nothing at all. Everything below is about the hide.
Stingray is not waterproof
Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. The beads do not care, but water pulls the natural oils out of the skin beneath them; the leather stiffens as it dries and loses the flexible bed the beads sit in. Occasional rain is not a problem. Repeated soaking, and heat applied to wet leather, are what ruin an exotic-skin bracelet. Caligio builds an entire waterproof bracelets collection for the wrist that lives in water.
Clean between the beads, not across them
Everything a cloth cannot reach ends up in the valleys. Skin oil, dust, and cologne settle in the gaps rather than on the domes, and on a dark color that shows as a dulling rather than as dirt: the pale crowns stay bright while the ground fills in and loses depth. A dry soft-bristle brush lifts it out in seconds. Never dig with a fingernail, and never chase it with a wet cloth.
Purple asks one thing: keep it out of the sun
Deep colors hold up well against everyday marks, and this one hides more than cream or turquoise ever will. Strong light is the exception. Months on a windowsill or a car dashboard will lift any dark dye, so the cuff stores flat in its pouch and out of direct light.
Care
- Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
- If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
- Brush the surface with a dry soft-bristle brush when the ground starts looking dull.
- Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of leather balm on a cloth.
- Wipe the steel frame with a soft dry cloth.
- Take the bracelet off by sliding it sideways across the wrist rather than prying the tips apart.
- Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, out of direct sun.
What is stingray leather?
Stingray leather, also called shagreen, is hide covered in thousands of calcified beads roughly as hard as tooth enamel. Each bead is a separate dome rather than part of a continuous grain, which is why the surface reads as texture from any distance.
Why is purple such an unusual color for a men's bracelet?
Because for most of history it was the hardest color to produce. Purple dye came from sea snails in tiny quantities and cost more by weight than gold, which is why empires restricted who could wear it. Modern dye changed the economics but not the association, and jewelry still rarely uses it.
Purple stingray or black stingray?
Black is the version that disappears into any outfit and reads as relief. Purple is the version people ask about: the pale bead crowns against a dark color give the strongest texture contrast in the collection. Black is the daily piece, purple the conversation.
Why a steel frame instead of gold?
Gold pushes purple toward velvet and coronation, a register the color already carries. Cool 316L steel keeps it in the present and echoes the pale light on the bead crowns, so the metal agrees with the texture rather than competing with the color.
How can a hard beaded leather sit on a bracelet that bends?
Because stingray is a mosaic rather than a shell. The calcified beads are separate nodes in a leather bed, so when the 316L frame opens or closes they shift a fraction against each other and nothing has to stretch. A continuous rigid surface would craze.
Will this bracelet fit my wrist?
Yes. The three sizes are three degrees of opening rather than three fixed circumferences, and the 316L frame bends by hand. Small reaches 6.7 inches, Medium 7.2, and Large opens to a full 8, the roomiest Large in the line.
Is a stingray leather bracelet waterproof?
No. The beads do not care about water, but the leather holding them does: soaking pulls the oils out, the hide stiffens as it dries, and the bead layer loses the flexible bed it sits in. Take it off before swimming, showering, and soaking.
Is this bracelet unisex?
Unisex by design rather than by adaptation. The cuff was drawn to be bent to any wrist, so it was never sized for one gender and offered to the other. Men and women wear the same three sizes.
To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.
