The closure that is not there

Eros began as a customer's complaint. He wanted a bracelet that went on without a struggle, that had no small part to lose, that was metal and rope at the same time, that fit any wrist, and that a woman could wear without it looking borrowed. Caligio's designers worked through it with him and arrived at the answer by subtraction: remove the closure entirely. There is no clasp on Eros Steel. There is no shackle, no screw pin, no magnet, nothing that unscrews and falls into a sink drain. The bracelet is an open cuff. You slide it on.

Two materials, and neither one is decorative

Half of the cuff is polished 316L stainless steel, the alloy used for surgical instruments, and it holds the tension that keeps the shape. The other half is white braided nylon rope, which belongs to the same family of fiber as sailing line and climbing cord: it resists abrasion, it holds its white, and it barely takes on water. Neither material was chosen to look like jewelry. They were chosen because they work, and the seam where the polish meets the braid is the whole design. Steel alone reads as hardware. A rope alone reads as gear. Together they produce the piece customers describe as the most complimented thing they own.

It fits by bending, not by measuring

The steel arc adjusts with bare hands in about two seconds. Squeeze to tighten, pull gently to open. No tools, no jeweler, no size chart anxiety. That is also why Eros is unisex without qualification: an open cuff has no fixed circumference, so it fits the wrist it is put on rather than the wrist it was made for.

What you are actually wearing

Polished 316L stainless steel joined to a white nylon rope, open-cuff construction, no clasp. Hypoallergenic. Two sizes plus a bend, and Eros Steel XL reaches 9.3 inches for larger wrists. The gold and black leather version is Eros Golden, and the two together are sold as the Eros and Eros bundle. 316L stainless steel and white nylon rope

The steel half is 316L, the marine-grade alloy used for surgical instruments. It does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. The rope half is braided nylon rather than cotton, which changes what it asks of you. Nylon barely absorbs water, dries quickly, and resists abrasion. What it does do is hold onto anything oily that touches it, and white shows everything.

Water is not the enemy here. Chemistry is.

Rain and sweat are non-events for this bracelet, which is unusual for anything with rope on it. Pools and the ocean are a different matter, and not because the bracelet would fall apart. Chlorine and salt attack the whiteness of a light synthetic over time, and nothing puts that back. Take it off before swimming. Keeping a white rope white

Sunscreen, cologne, and hand cream are the three things that turn a white rope beige, and all three go on before the bracelet does. Put the bracelet on last. If it gets marked, dab the spot with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, work it gently, and let it air dry away from heat. Never bleach and never machine wash.

Care

• Put it on after sunscreen, cologne, and hand cream. Take it off before pools and salt water.
• If it gets wet, blot it with a towel and let it dry at room temperature. Never use a dryer, a radiator, or direct sun.
• Clean the rope with a damp cloth and mild soap, spot by spot. No bleach.
• Wipe the steel with a soft dry cloth. It needs nothing else.
• Bend the cuff with two hands rather than forcing one end. Steel takes hundreds of gentle adjustments and dislikes one violent one.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag rather than loose in a drawer, where the braid picks up dust.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys. Eros Steel is 316L stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, the alloy dermatologists point to as the safe default for reactive skin and continuous daily wear.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
