The twisted weave

Gio Navy Blue, Black, and Beige share a structure of their own within the line: a twisted weave, where the strands spiral instead of lying flat. It photographs like cord and feels like knitwear, and it is the reason a plain black bracelet from this trio never reads as plain. The standard Gio Black tops out at 8 inches; this one carries the same sculpture past that.

Steel that needs nothing, cotton that asks for one habit

The clasp is stainless steel: it does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. The rope is soft natural cotton in a twisted weave, and the softness is the whole point, which means its one weakness deserves respect.

Gio Black XL is not waterproof

Take it off before the shower, the pool, and the ocean. Cotton absorbs, and what it absorbs it keeps: chlorine, salt, whatever the water carried. It dries slowly, stiffens as it dries, and loses the softness that made it feel like it was always there. Occasional rain is not a problem. For an all-black rope that lives in water, the nylon Gio Black follows different rules, and Caligio builds a full waterproof bracelets collection in solid steel.

Black cotton does not fade. It films.

A black braid keeps its dye for years. What it collects is a fine pale film: sunscreen, cologne, and hand cream settle into the weave and hold dust, and a twisted rope holds the film in its grooves, where dust on black reads as grey. The bracelet goes on last, after everything you spray or rub in, and comes off first. If it films, work it gently with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, let it air dry away from heat, and the black comes back.

Care

• Put it on last, after sunscreen, cologne, and hand cream.
• Take it off before water. If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature, never near heat.
• Spot-clean the cotton with a damp cloth and mild soap. No bleach, no machine wash.
• Wipe the clasp with a soft dry cloth. It needs nothing else.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag rather than loose, where cotton collects dust.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys. The Gio clasp is stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, the safe default for reactive skin, and the cotton rope is a natural fiber against the skin.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
