A color that moves

Hold a solid green rope in daylight and it stays one green. Hold a flecked one and the surface breaks: white fibers catch the light while the green behind them stays in shadow, and the whole cord shifts as your wrist turns. Nothing is animated and nothing is coated. It is simply what happens when two fiber colors sit at different depths in the same weave. Binate Green Dotted is the bracelet that looks different at a table than it does outdoors, and most people never work out why.

Why green takes the speckle better than any other color

White against navy reads as maritime. White against green reads as the outdoors itself, because it is the pattern of light through leaves, of lichen on stone, of every surface that has ever been photographed under a tree. Green with white fiber is the only combination in the Binate line that borrows its texture from something people have looked at their entire lives.

What you are actually wearing

Two strands of green nylon rope with white fibers spun through them, closed by a polished 316L stainless steel D-shackle at roughly 8 mm across the wrist. The shackle is fixed to the bracelet and held shut by a screw pin. Turn the pin out by hand, reposition the rope, thread it back through, and the bracelet gains about one size. Waterproof materials and hypoallergenic steel, though Caligio recommends taking it off before a swim.

Black, where the green does the talking. Earth tones, where it disappears into the outfit and reappears when you move. Nylon rope and 316L stainless steel

Neither material on Binate Green Dotted is harmed by water. Nylon does not absorb it, does not rot, and does not lose strength when wet, which is why it replaced natural fiber on working boats. The 316L stainless steel D-shackle does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. There is nothing organic in this bracelet.

Water, and what we recommend

Rain, sweat, and washing your hands are not a problem. Caligio still recommends taking the bracelet off before swimming, a long shower, or a soak. Water does not break this bracelet. Time spent wet is what slowly dulls the polish on steel and stiffens any rope, and a bracelet that comes off for the pool and goes back on afterward keeps its shape for years rather than seasons.

The pattern is structural

The white flecks are separate fibers spun into the rope during manufacture, not a print applied to the finished cord. Nothing sits on the surface, so nothing can flake, fade at the contact points, or wash out. Green also happens to be among the slowest colors to lighten under sun, which makes this the piece in the Binate line least troubled by a summer spent outdoors.

Care

• Take it off before swimming or a long soak. The materials survive water; the finish lasts longer without it.
• If it does get wet, rinse with fresh water and let it dry naturally at room temperature, away from heat.
• If the rope needs cleaning, use mild soap and cool water. Never bleach: white fibers in a colored rope are the one place where bleaching shows immediately.
• Wipe the steel shackle with a soft dry cloth to keep the polish bright.
• Check the screw pin every few weeks and finger-tighten it. A pin that walks loose over months is the only way this bracelet can come off on its own.
• Keep spare screw pins on hand. They are the smallest part, the easiest to lose during a size change, and they live in the bracelet parts collection.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys. This shackle is 316L stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, the alloy dermatologists point to as the safe default for reactive skin and continuous daily wear.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
