Purple is where fake leather gives itself away

An unusual color is the hardest test a material can be given. On printed or embossed leather, purple immediately looks synthetic: the color sits flat, the fake scale pattern reads as texture stamped into a sheet, and the eye files the whole thing under costume. On real python the same purple has somewhere to go. It sinks into the soft leather between the scales and skims the hard scale tops, so the cord is dark in every seam and luminous across every plate. The color does not sit on the bracelet. It lives inside the structure.

Genuine python leather

Python is leather with an unusual surface: overlapping keratin scales, each hinged at its base so the cord stays flexible. The scales are hard. What lies under them is skin, and skin behaves like skin.

Python is not waterproof

Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. Water pulls the natural oils out of leather; the fiber stiffens as it dries, and the next bend cracks it. Scale edges are the first place that damage shows. Occasional rain is not a problem. Repeated soaking, and heat applied to wet leather, are what ruin an exotic-leather bracelet. Purple and ultraviolet

Purple is a mixed pigment, and mixed pigments do not fade evenly. Under long exposure to sun the red component of a purple dye surrenders before the blue, which means an abused bracelet drifts toward a cool slate rather than simply getting lighter. This takes years of windowsills and dashboards to achieve. It takes one pouch to avoid.

Care

• Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
• If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
• Wipe along the scales with a dry cloth, never against them. Running a cloth backward lifts scale edges.
• Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of colorless leather balm.
• Wipe the steel clasp with a soft dry cloth.
• Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun.

Skin sensitivity

The clasp is stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, which is the safe default for reactive skin. Green wrist marks come from copper alloys and will not happen here.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
