A color that never sits still

Purple on flat leather is a decision you have to defend. Purple on stingray is something else, because stingray does not have a flat surface to hold a color still. The surface is a field of calcified beads, each one a small dome, and a dome throws light back from a different point depending on where the viewer stands. So the purple pools dark between the beads and lifts almost to lavender across their crowns, and the ratio changes every time your wrist moves. Nobody looks at Wild Purple Stingray and thinks about the color. They look at it and cannot work out what the surface is doing.

Unusual colors are how you test a leather

Embossed leather imitating exotic texture always fails the same way: the pattern is stamped, so the color lies across it in one even layer. Real stingray takes dye deep into the leather bed and barely at all into the mineral beads. That difference is impossible to fake and easiest to see in a color nobody expects.

Exotic leather, priced by the material

What you are actually wearing

Genuine stingray leather, dyed purple, closed with a stainless steel snap clasp. Three sizes: Small up to 6.7 inches, Medium up to 7.2 inches, Large up to 8 inches. Genuine stingray leather

Stingray is leather with a mineral surface. Thousands of calcified beads, close to tooth enamel in hardness, sit embedded in a hide that behaves like any other hide. The beads are almost indestructible. The leather holding them is not, and every line below is about the leather.

Stingray is not waterproof

Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. The beads do not care, but water pulls the natural oils out of the skin beneath them; the leather stiffens as it dries and loses the flexibility that keeps the bead layer intact. Occasional rain is not a problem. Repeated soaking, and heat applied to wet leather, are what ruin an exotic-leather bracelet. Purple, ultraviolet, and patience

Purple is a mixed pigment. Under sustained sun the red component gives way before the blue, so a badly stored bracelet drifts toward a cool slate instead of simply going pale. On stingray this happens more slowly than on flat leather, because the bead crowns hold almost no dye to lose in the first place. Keep it in the pouch and the question never comes up.

Care

• Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
• If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
• Clean with a dry cloth. Debris collects between the beads, so use a soft dry brush rather than digging with a nail.
• Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of colorless leather balm.
• Wipe the steel clasp with a soft dry cloth.
• Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun.

Skin sensitivity

The clasp is stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, which is the safe default for reactive skin. Green wrist marks come from copper alloys and will not happen here.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
