Wild Red Wine Stingray is a single-copy piece. A small quantity of stingray was dyed in this deep red, cut into what the hides allowed, and never run again. Every exotic-leather bracelet is already unique in its bead pattern; this one is unique in its color as well, which is a different and rarer kind of scarce.

Red is the hardest color to put on a natural hide

Red pigment is the least stable in the dyer's cabinet and the first to shift under light, which is why deep reds are common in synthetics and uncommon in exotic leather. On stingray the difficulty compounds: the mineral beads reject dye almost entirely, so a red hide comes out of the vat as wine in the valleys and rose at the crowns. What you get is a color with two readings at once, and it cannot be printed, stamped, or reproduced on demand.

Exotic leather, priced by the material

What you are actually wearing

Genuine stingray leather in a deep red wine tone, closed with a stainless steel snap clasp. Three sizes: Small up to 6.7 inches, Medium up to 7.2 inches, Large up to 8 inches. Genuine stingray leather

Stingray is leather with a mineral surface. Thousands of calcified beads, close to tooth enamel in hardness, sit embedded in a hide that behaves like any other hide. The beads are almost indestructible. The leather holding them is not, and every line below is about the leather.

Stingray is not waterproof

Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. The beads do not care, but water pulls the natural oils out of the skin beneath them; the leather stiffens as it dries and loses the flexibility that keeps the bead layer intact. Occasional rain is not a problem. Repeated soaking, and heat applied to wet leather, are what ruin an exotic-leather bracelet. Deep red asks for a drawer

Red is the least stable pigment under ultraviolet light, which is exactly why it is rare on natural leather and common on synthetics. A red wine stingray kept out of direct sun holds its tone for years. The same bracelet left on a car dashboard through one summer will not. Since this piece cannot be replaced, treat the pouch as part of the product.

Care

• Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
• If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
• Clean with a dry cloth. Debris collects between the beads, so use a soft dry brush rather than digging with a nail.
• Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of colorless leather balm. Tinted balm will muddy the red.
• Wipe the steel clasp with a soft dry cloth.
• Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun.

Skin sensitivity

The clasp is stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, which is the safe default for reactive skin. Green wrist marks come from copper alloys and will not happen here.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
