The color the eye finds first

Human vision is most sensitive in the yellow-green part of the spectrum, which is why yellow ended up on the things that cannot afford to be missed. Nobody chose it for those jobs by taste. Legacy Yellow Braided Leather takes that fact and puts it on a wrist: a 6mm rope of round-woven genuine leather on a 316L stainless steel box clasp, and the boldest color in the line by a distance.

Dark clothing is what it is for

Yellow on black is the highest-contrast pairing the eye can process, which is why signage has used it for a century. On a black tee, charcoal, or dark denim, this bracelet becomes the single thing anyone looks at. Against white, cream, and khaki it drops out of signal mode and reads as a summer color instead, so the same piece has two registers depending on what you put it against.

A box clasp, which is what fine jewelry uses

The closure is a box clasp, the mechanism fitted to pieces set with stones and made in gold and silver. On diamond bracelets it is the baseline for responsible construction rather than an upgrade: a folded steel tongue is pushed into a hollow box, the tension in the fold springs it open against the inner walls, and it locks with a click you feel through the leather. Two side buttons release it. Caligio builds it in 316L stainless steel, which is what puts it on a $59 bracelet.

6mm, 17 grams, 12 colors

6mm is the width where a braided leather bracelet reads substantial and stops short of becoming a cuff. 17 grams is presence without weight. The line runs 12 colors in the Legacy collection, and the warm bright next to this one is Legacy Orange.

Genuine leather

The braid is genuine leather, sourced from official suppliers and woven into a round rope. Leather is a skin and behaves like one: it takes the shape of the wrist over the first few weeks and holds it. A 6mm braid has more material to break in than a thin band, so it settles a little slower and then stays settled for years.

The lightest color in the line, and the least forgiving

Yellow shows what every other color hides. Sunscreen, hand cream, and cologne mark it faster than tan, and far faster than black. There is no maintenance to do about that, only an order to keep: the bracelet goes on last, after everything you spray or rub in, and comes off first. Wipe it along the braid with a dry cloth now and then, and store it out of direct light so the brightness holds.

316L surgical stainless steel

The box clasp and its tongue are machined from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. There is no plating on it, so nothing can wear through.

Care

• Keep the leather dry. The steel is unaffected by water, but the leather is what determines how long this bracelet lasts.
• Take it off before swimming, showering, or heavy exercise.
• If it gets wet, pat it dry with a soft cloth and let it air dry away from direct heat. Never a hairdryer or a radiator.
• Wipe the braid along its length with a dry cloth. Dust settles in the grooves of a weave rather than on the surface.
• Condition the leather two or three times a year with a small amount of leather balm on a cloth. On pale leather, test on the inside of the braid first.
• Wipe the steel clasp with a soft dry cloth to keep the polish bright.
• Take it off before applying cologne, sunscreen, or lotion, then put it back on once the skin is dry.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sunlight.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys, and fading comes from thin electroplating. This piece uses neither. Genuine leather touches the skin for most of the bracelet's length, and solid 316L steel handles the rest.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
