The leather that cannot crease

Every leather bracelet you have owned failed in the same place: the fold. Cowhide is a fabric of fibers running in one direction, and a bend that happens in the same spot every day eventually breaks them. Stingray is not built that way. Its surface is a mosaic of separate calcified beads, each one independent of its neighbor, set into a hide with no directional grain. There is no fiber to break and no crease line to form. Wild Green Stingray will look worn one day, but it will not look folded.

Light does not reflect off stingray the way it reflects off leather. Each bead is a dome, and a dome returns light from a different point depending on where you stand. A green stingray cord therefore has no single green: it is dark in the valleys, bright at the crowns, and it redraws itself as your wrist turns. This is what people are looking at when they cannot work out why the bracelet keeps catching their eye.

What you are actually wearing

Genuine stingray leather, dyed green, closed with a stainless steel snap clasp. Three sizes: Small up to 6.7 inches, Medium up to 7.2 inches, Large up to 8 inches. Genuine stingray leather

Stingray is leather with a mineral surface. Thousands of calcified beads, close to tooth enamel in hardness, sit embedded in a hide that behaves like any other hide. The beads are almost indestructible. The leather holding them is not, and every line below is about the leather.

Stingray is not waterproof

Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. The beads do not care, but water pulls the natural oils out of the skin beneath them; the leather stiffens as it dries and loses the flexibility that keeps the bead layer intact. Occasional rain is not a problem. Repeated soaking, and heat applied to wet leather, are what ruin an exotic-leather bracelet. Where the color lives

Dye reaches the leather bed easily and the mineral beads barely at all, which is why a colored stingray always keeps a paler crown on each bead. That is not fading. It is how the material takes color, and it is the reason the green appears to have two tones at once. Over years the bed color softens while the bead crowns stay exactly as they are.

Care

• Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
• If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
• Clean with a dry cloth. Debris collects between the beads, so use a soft dry brush rather than digging with a nail.
• Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of leather balm, worked into the surface with a cloth.
• Wipe the steel clasp with a soft dry cloth.
• Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun.

Skin sensitivity

The clasp is stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, which is the safe default for reactive skin. Green wrist marks come from copper alloys and will not happen here.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
