Exotic skin has a narrow palette in menswear. Black, brown, the occasional grey, and that is usually where the catalog stops. Infinity Gold Python Turquoise breaks that on purpose: genuine python leather in a clear turquoise, bonded to a gold-tone 316L stainless steel frame, with no clasp. The scales still read as python from a foot away, but the color arrives first, and it is a color almost nobody else puts on a python cuff.

Why gold and turquoise work

The pairing is old enough to be settled. Turquoise set in warm metal runs from ancient Egyptian burial jewelry to the silver and gold work of the American Southwest, and it survives because of what the metal does to the blue: gold pushes turquoise warmer and richer, where cool steel leaves it looking flat. On this cuff the gold-tone frame runs the full length of the arc, so the blue never sits alone.

The cuff is a spring, and the leather is a passenger

A 316L stainless steel frame forms a wide shallow arc that stores energy when you open it and gives it back when you let go. The python leather is bonded to the outside of that arc and carries nothing: it is not asked to stretch, hold a knot, or survive a clasp. It only has to be python. You slide the cuff over the flat of your wrist and let the steel close behind you.

An open cuff in genuine turquoise python on a gold-tone 316L frame, unisex, in three sizes that are three degrees of opening: Small up to 6.7 inches, Medium up to 7.2 inches, Large up to 7.7 inches. Two materials, one of which is alive

The 316L stainless steel frame needs nothing from you. It does not rust and does not lose its spring. The gold tone is a plated finish on that steel, and a finish is a surface. The python leather bonded to the frame is skin, and skin has requirements.

Python is not waterproof

Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. Water pulls the natural oils out of leather; the fiber stiffens as it dries, and the next flex cracks it. On a cuff the damage appears first where the arc curves most, and at the scale edges. Occasional rain is not a problem. A bright color earns the strictest version of the habit

Turquoise is a color carried on a natural skin, and colored leather loses depth if it is soaked repeatedly or left in strong sun. Two rules cover it: keep it dry, and store it out of direct light rather than on a windowsill or a car dashboard. Kept that way, the blue holds for years.

The one habit that matters on a cuff

Take it off by sliding it sideways across the flat of your wrist. Do not pry the tips apart every night. The steel tolerates being opened, but the leather at the tips is where the bond is thinnest, and repeated prying is the only realistic way to lift it. Set the opening once, correctly, and then stop adjusting it.

Care

• Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
• If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
• Wipe along the scales with a dry cloth, never against them. A cloth run backward lifts scale edges.
• Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of leather balm on a cloth.
• Wipe the gold-tone frame with a soft dry cloth only. No polish, no dips, no ultrasonic cleaner.
• Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, out of direct sun.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.
