Two straps, one idea, one accent

The Egoist is Caligio's most minimal leather design: two parallel bands of smooth black leather framing a polished screw shackle. The Black & Red edition takes that restraint and gives it exactly one exception, bright red cord wraps binding the straps at each side of the steel. One accent on a monochrome base is the oldest trick in menswear, the red sole, the red stitch, the red dial, and it works here for the same reason: discipline makes the flash count.

The sporting edge of the line

Where the other Egoists lean classic, the red thread leans quick: it is the colorway that reads racing rather than boardroom, at home with a black watch, dark denim, and sneakers. The red is woven cord, not print, so the accent keeps its saturation instead of wearing away.

The clasp you configure yourself

The screw-pin D-shackle, engraved with the Caligio name, is the sailing fastener: unscrew the pin, thread it through, tighten. It is fully customizable, Silver, Black, or Gold at checkout, and the Black shackle with red wraps is the sharpest pairing this colorway makes. Spare shackles live in the bracelet parts collection.

Bigger wrists are covered by the Egoist Black & Red XL up to 8.8 inches, and the same double strap comes in Black, Tan Brown, and Dark Brown in the Egoist collection.

Leather rules, steel exceptions

The shackle is stainless steel and needs nothing: no rust, no tarnish, ever. The straps are genuine leather, and leather has one law: it lives long and looks better with age if it stays dry.

The Egoist is not waterproof

Take it off before the shower, the pool, and the ocean. Smooth leather straps handle a splash better than a braid, but soaking swells the fibers and dulls the surface. Occasional rain drops are not an event, just towel them off. Heat is worse than water: never dry leather near a radiator or leave it on a dashboard in summer.

Keeping the red red

The accent is woven cord, colorfast by construction, and the one thing that mutes it is the same film that dulls the leather: sunscreen, cologne, and hand cream. The bracelet goes on last. A soft dry cloth revives both straps and wraps in seconds; a drop of colorless leather conditioner, worked into the leather only, keeps it supple for years.

Care

• Put it on last, after sunscreen, cologne, and hand cream.
• Keep it out of the shower, the pool, and the ocean. Towel off rain drops.
• Never dry it near heat: radiators and dashboards crack leather.
• Buff with a soft dry cloth; conditioner on the leather only, not the wraps.
• Check the shackle pin is snug now and then; it threads tight in seconds.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys. The shackle is stainless steel, nickel-free and copper-free, the safe default for reactive skin, and the straps are natural leather.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

Please note, sometimes delivery providers may come up with a shipment delay due to the restrictions issued by countries' governments in these challenging times. Therefore, there may be cases when the package arrives several days after you receive a delivery notification.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
