Black leather ages on the surface. Brown ages in tone, and that difference is the reason to choose it. Over years the color deepens where the wrist bends and where the hand touches it most, so the bracelet ends up carrying a map of how it was worn - a patina that belongs to one owner and cannot be bought new. Legacy Brown Braided Leather is a 6mm rope of round-woven genuine leather on a 316L stainless steel box clasp, built old-school on purpose, and brown is the color where that intent shows fastest.

Nothing to coordinate

Brown is already the base color of a man's leather: the belt, the boots, the watch strap. A brown braided bracelet joins that set without a single adjustment, which makes it the easiest piece in the collection to wear daily. Match the shade to the darkest brown you own and the whole question of coordination disappears. Against denim, khaki, olive, grey, and white it needs no thought at all.

A box clasp, which is what fine jewelry uses

The closure on this bracelet is a box clasp, the mechanism fitted to pieces set with stones and made in gold and silver. On diamond bracelets it is not considered an upgrade but the baseline for responsible construction, because of how it works: a folded metal tongue is pushed into a hollow box, the tension in the fold springs it open against the inner walls, and it locks with a click you feel through the leather rather than hear. Two small buttons on the sides release it. Caligio builds the entire mechanism in 316L stainless steel, and that is the whole trick - the same closure, the same feel in the hand, on a bracelet that costs $59.

6mm and 17 grams

Both numbers are the point. 6mm is the width where a braided leather bracelet reads as substantial and stops short of becoming a cuff - thinner looks like a cord, thicker starts wearing you. And the whole piece weighs 17 grams, so it has presence without weight: solid to look at, forgotten within a minute of putting it on. Getting those two numbers to agree is most of the design.

Seven years, one bracelet

Genuine leather

The braid is genuine leather, sourced from official suppliers and woven into a round rope. Leather is a skin and behaves like one: it takes the shape of the wrist over the first few weeks and holds it. A 6mm braid has more material to break in than a thin band, so it settles a little slower and then stays settled for years.

Brown ages by deepening

This is the color that shows its history. Over years the tone darkens where the wrist bends and where the hand touches it most, and the weave develops a patina no two of which are alike. Nothing about that needs managing - it is the reason to buy brown rather than black. The one thing worth avoiding is long stretches of direct sun, which lightens brown unevenly and works against the even deepening you want.

316L surgical stainless steel

The box clasp and its tongue are machined from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. There is no plating on it, so nothing can wear through, and the polished face keeps its shine with a dry cloth alone.

Care

• Keep the leather dry. The steel is unaffected by water, but the leather is what determines how long this bracelet lasts.
• Take it off before swimming, showering, or heavy exercise.
• If it gets wet, pat it dry with a soft cloth and let it air dry away from direct heat. Never a hairdryer or a radiator.
• Wipe the braid along its length with a dry cloth. Dust settles in the grooves of a weave rather than on the surface.
• Condition the leather two or three times a year with a small amount of leather balm on a cloth.
• Wipe the steel clasp with a soft dry cloth to keep the polish bright.
• Take it off before applying cologne, sunscreen, or lotion, then put it back on once the skin is dry.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sunlight.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys, and fading comes from thin electroplating. This piece uses neither. Genuine leather touches the skin for most of the bracelet's length, and solid 316L steel handles the rest.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
