Standard men's bracelets end at 8 inches, and a great many wrists do not. Rio Royal Blue XL is not a Large stretched to cover a gap; it is its own model, cut to fit up to 8.5 inches, built from the same top-grade nylon rope and the same machined 316L steel shackle as every other Rio. Nothing about it is a compromise, and nothing about it announces that it is the larger size.

The blue that was named for a court

Royal blue earned its name literally. The story attaches to an eighteenth-century English competition to weave a blue worthy of a queen, and the winning cloth gave the shade both its depth and its title. What survives is a specific tone: darker than cobalt, brighter than navy, saturated enough that it never reads as a neutral. This is the piece chosen to be noticed, where navy is the piece worn with everything.

No bolts, no screws, nothing to lose

The C-type shackle holds without hardware. The rope passes through the inside of the steel curve and tension keeps everything seated, so there is no pin to loosen and no screw to back out. It also means the shackle lifts out by hand. Fit a D-shackle, a bow-shackle, or another C-shackle from the bracelet parts collection and the same rope becomes a different bracelet. D-shackles and bow-shackles come in steel, black matte, and gold, and a gold shackle against royal blue is the closest thing this collection has to a dress version.

Where it sits in your rotation

White, grey, tan, and every wash of denim. Royal blue is also the Rio that pairs most naturally with polished steel, so a silver watch beside it needs no thought. Nothing to service

Most bracelet care advice is really clasp care advice: tighten this, replace that, check the pin. Rio has none of those instructions because the C-type shackle has no hardware in it. The rope passes through the inside of the steel curve and tension holds it. Nothing to loosen, nothing to lose, nothing that gets harder to use as the years pass.

Waterproof by construction

Rio Royal Blue XL is a waterproof bracelet. Top-grade nylon does not absorb water, swell, stiffen, or hold a smell, and 316L surgical stainless steel does not rust. There is no leather to protect and no coating to lift, so swimming, showering, salt water, and chlorine are all within normal use rather than exceptions to it.

Top-grade nylon rope

Rio uses the thickest rope in the Caligio range, dyed through the fiber rather than coated on the surface, so there is no layer to scratch or wear away. Saturated blues hold their depth well, and this one holds it longest when stored out of direct sun between wears.

316L surgical stainless steel shackle

The C-type shackle is machined from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. There is no plating on it, so nothing can wear through.

Care

• Rinse with fresh water and air dry after the ocean, a pool, or heavy sweat.
• Wipe the shackle with a soft dry cloth to keep the polish bright.
• Take it off before applying cologne, sunscreen, or lotion, then put it back on once the skin is dry.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sunlight.
• Never use bleach, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners. Fresh water is the only thing this bracelet needs.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys, and fading comes from thin electroplating. This piece uses neither. Nylon rope touches skin for most of the bracelet's length, and 316L steel handles the rest, which makes Rio one of the safest options in the catalog for reactive skin.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
