Turquoise without the beach

On silver or gold, turquoise borrows the shine around it and reads as a holiday color. On black it has nothing to borrow, so the color has to stand on its own, and it does: the blue-green turns deeper, cooler, and more saturated. That is the difference between a bracelet you wear for two months a year and one that stays on from autumn through spring.

Why two rows

A single chain rolls on the wrist and a single cord twists. Two rows of round box chain tied together by woven cord stay flat and face-up, so the turquoise runs as a straight line down the middle of a black band. On a saturated color, a straight line looks designed; a twisted one looks like an accident.

316L surgical stainless steel

The chain and clasp are made from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants and premium watch cases. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer on the surface, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. It contains no nickel available to the skin and no copper, so it is safe for sensitive wrists and continuous daily wear.

Black ion plating

The black finish is applied through ion plating, a vacuum process in the physical vapor deposition family, the same method used on blacked-out tool watches. It bonds the color into the surface of the steel rather than resting on top of it, so the finish is harder than the steel beneath it, resists scratching, and holds its depth through daily wear.

Turquoise cord

The marine-grade cord is dyed through the fiber rather than coated, so the color does not rub off with wear or water. A saturated mid-tone like turquoise hides everyday dirt better than a pale cord; a gentle wash with mild soap and water brings it back if it ever looks dull.

Care

• Wipe the chain with a soft dry cloth after wear.
• Showers, rain, sweat, and pool water are fine for the steel, the ion-plated finish, and the cord.
• Rinse with fresh water and pat dry after salt water or chlorine.
• Wash the cord gently with mild soap and water when needed, then let it air dry.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from pieces that could scratch the finish.
• Skip bleach, alcohol, abrasive cleaners, and ultrasonic jewelry machines. Abrasives are the one thing that can dull an ion-plated surface.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys, and fading comes from thin electroplating. This piece uses neither. If you have reacted to jewelry before, 316L steel is the alloy dermatologists point to as the safe default.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
