How to bend a cuff so it fits you exactly

Most people adjust a cuff badly on the first try, and the mistake is always the same: they grab the two tips and pull. The load then concentrates at the ends, where the frame is narrowest and the leather bond is thinnest. Do it the other way. Hold the cuff at the sides of the arc, one hand on each arm, and press or spread with both hands at once so the bend distributes across the whole curve. Work in small increments and try it on between each one. Two or three gentle passes beat a single decisive squeeze, and a cuff that has been set correctly once will never need setting again.

Fit is not tightness

The cuff should sit against the wrist without gripping. If you can feel pressure, it is too closed; if it slides toward the hand when you drop your arm, it is too open. Correct is when the bracelet moves half an inch and stops. Steel holds a shape rather than a squeeze, which is the difference between a cuff and a rubber band, and it is why this design is comfortable eleven hours into a day.

Two materials, one of which is alive

The 316L stainless steel frame needs nothing from you. It does not rust, tarnish, or lose its spring. The python leather bonded to it is skin, and skin has requirements. Everything below is about the leather.

Python is not waterproof

Do not swim in it, shower in it, or leave it soaking. Water pulls the natural oils out of leather; the fiber stiffens as it dries, and the next flex cracks it. On a cuff the damage appears first where the arc curves most, and at the scale edges, which are the thinnest part of the surface. Occasional rain is not a problem. Set it once

Steel tolerates bending. Repeated bending, in the same place, in opposite directions, is a different demand, and it is the only way a wearer can tire out a cuff frame. Adjust the opening properly on the first day, then take the bracelet off by sliding it sideways across the flat of your wrist rather than by prying the tips apart each evening.

Care

• Take it off before water, and put it on after cologne, sunscreen, and hand cream.
• If it gets wet, blot with a towel and dry at room temperature. Never a radiator, a hairdryer, or direct sun.
• Wipe along the scales with a dry cloth, never against them. A cloth run backward lifts scale edges.
• Condition two or three times a year with a small amount of leather balm on a cloth.
• Wipe the 316L steel frame with a soft dry cloth.
• Store it flat in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sun. Do not stack anything on top of it.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.
