One thread changes the register

Cord bracelets rarely get invited to dinner. Monro Black Gold does, and the reason is a single gold thread woven through black nylon. That thread is the entire difference between a rope bracelet and something that reads closer to jewelry: it catches light the way metal does, at a scale small enough that the piece never becomes loud. The clasp with nothing to lose

Every other cord bracelet Caligio makes closes with a shackle and a screw pin, and a screw pin can loosen, back out, and go missing. Monro removes the problem by removing the part. Its closure is a T-shaped steel hook that drops into a loop and holds under the natural tension of the cord. No pin, no screw, no thread to tighten. It goes on one-handed in about a second, and in five years it will work exactly as it does today, because there is no mechanism to wear out.

Dressy does not mean delicate

The usual trade for an evening piece is fragility. Monro Black Gold makes no such trade. It is fully waterproof, hypoallergenic, and built from the same top-grade materials as every other bracelet in the line, so the piece you wear to dinner is the piece you can swim in the next morning without changing anything.

A clasp with no maintenance

Most bracelet care advice is really clasp care advice: tighten this, replace that, check the pin. The Monro T-hook has none of those instructions because it has none of those parts. A steel hook seats into a loop and the cord's own tension holds it. Nothing to service, nothing to lose, nothing that gets harder to use as the years pass.

Waterproof by construction

Monro is a waterproof bracelet. Top-grade nylon does not absorb water, swell, stiffen, or hold a smell, and 316L surgical stainless steel does not rust. There is no leather to protect and no coating to lift, so swimming, showering, salt water, and chlorine are all within normal use rather than exceptions to it.

Black nylon, gold thread

The cord is dyed through the fiber rather than coated on the surface, so there is no layer to scratch or wear away. Black holds its depth better than any other cord color, since there is no lighter tone underneath for sun exposure to reveal, and the gold thread is woven into the structure rather than printed on it. Nothing here rubs off.

316L surgical stainless steel

The T-hook mount shackle is machined from 316L surgical stainless steel, the medical-grade alloy used in surgical implants. Its high chromium content forms a self-repairing oxide layer, which is why 316L does not rust, does not tarnish, and does not turn skin green. There is no plating on it, so nothing can wear through.

Care

• Rinse with fresh water and air dry after the ocean, a pool, or heavy sweat.
• Wipe the steel with a soft dry cloth to keep the polish bright.
• Take it off before applying cologne, sunscreen, or lotion, then put it back on once the skin is dry.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, away from direct sunlight.
• Never use bleach, alcohol, or abrasive cleaners. Fresh water is the only thing this bracelet needs.

Skin sensitivity

Green wrist marks come from copper alloys, and fading comes from thin electroplating. This piece uses neither. Cord touches skin for most of the bracelet's length, and 316L steel handles the rest.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
