Foss is the bracelet more Caligio customers buy than any other anchor piece, and for years a man with a 9 inch wrist could look at it and nothing more. Foss XL is not a consolation model. It is the same double-braided leather, the same polished steel anchor, and the same restraint, cut to reach 9 inches. Nothing was simplified to make the larger size, and nothing on the wrist announces that this is the larger size.

Why a big wrist gets the plain one right

Broad forearms carry solid color better than pattern, because scale amplifies whatever is on it. One dark tone interrupted by one bright object is the composition that holds at any size. That is the entire design of Foss, and it is why it works better at 9 inches than most bracelets work at 7.

What you are actually wearing

Double-braided genuine leather in dark tone, closed by a machined 316L surgical stainless steel anchor. One plus size, up to 9 inches. Leather, so not waterproof. Rain and humidity now and then will not hurt it; swimming, showering, and soaking will.

Where it sits in your rotation

Jeans and a white shirt, a leather jacket, a large watch, and any evening that calls for one object on the wrist. Below 8 inches, the standard Foss is the correct choice. Genuine leather and 316L steel

Foss XL combines two materials with opposite needs. The 316L surgical stainless steel anchor is indifferent to everything: it does not rust, tarnish, or turn skin green, and water does nothing to it. The braided leather is the part that asks for attention. Treated properly, dark leather is also the part that looks best after two years of wear.

Not waterproof, and what that actually means

Do not swim in it, do not shower in it, and do not leave it soaking. Caligio does not recommend wetting leather at all. That said, a bracelet caught in rain or worn through a humid afternoon has not been damaged. Blot it with a dry cloth, let it dry at room temperature away from radiators and direct sun, and it will be exactly as it was. What ruins leather is heat applied to wet leather, and repeated soaking, not one wet walk home.

Why dark leather is forgiving

A dark hide hides the small marks daily wear leaves on any bracelet, and it darkens further at the contact points rather than staining. On a larger wrist, where more leather is exposed and more of it meets a desk edge, that forgiveness matters more than it does on a short strap.

Care

• Keep it dry. Take it off before swimming, showering, and the gym.
• If it gets wet, blot with a dry cloth and dry at room temperature. Never use a hairdryer, a radiator, or direct sun.
• Wipe the steel anchor with a soft dry cloth to keep the polish bright.
• Apply a small amount of neutral leather conditioner once or twice a year if the braid feels dry, working along the braid rather than across it.
• Store it in the Caligio pouch bag, flat, away from heat.
• Never use bleach, alcohol, abrasive cleaners, or ultrasonic machines on leather.

If you want a bracelet you never take off

Leather is not the material for that, and no honest brand will tell you otherwise. The waterproof bracelets collection holds the pieces built for water: nylon rope on steel, and solid steel cuffs.

To define the correct sizing of your wrist, we highly recommend using a tape measure and measuring the circumference of your wrist just above the hand. However, if you do not have a special measure, use a small piece of tape or a cord. Wrap it around your wrist and measure the length against a ruler.

Please note, sometimes delivery providers may come up with a shipment delay due to the restrictions issued by countries' governments in these challenging times. Therefore, there may be cases when the package arrives several days after you receive a delivery notification.

If you ordered the wrong size, color, or simply would like to return the product, you can do so within 30 days from the delivery date. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original packaging, free from any odors (deodorant, perfume), stains, or signs of wear. The original gift box and velvet pouch must be included - returns without original packaging will not be accepted. Please note that a $9.99 shipping and handling fee applies to all domestic returns and will be deducted from the amount refunded.

Once your return is approved, please send the item(s) back within 7 days. 

For exchanges within the US, your first exchange is completely free and will be dispatched within 5 business days after we receive and inspect the item. Subsequent exchanges are at the customer's expense.
